Melinda’s Thoughts 11/13/23

A new dream…For 27 years No Worries has been my dream come true. Incredible Caregivers, Clients who have taught me dignity and wisdom, Family of Clients who have inspired me with their love and devotion. So many special memories. Now, as I am about to turn 65, I find that all I want to do is be with family…especially our 12 grandchildren.

The process of figuring out the best situation for No Worries has had its twists and turns. I have involved our outstanding Administrative Team in every step. The Administrative Team helped interview buyers. It was a unanimous “Yes” when we met Caleb and his wife Ellie.

What a relief it was for Jim and I to know that the culture and commitment for quality for which we had worked so hard was consistent with Caleb’s values and would be preserved.

Jim and I will be retiring on December 7th. I know that Worries will thrive with Caleb’s leadership and expertise. I also know I will miss all of you very much!

Hello from Caleb. I am honored to be the new owner of No Worries. I have previous home care experience, including owning and operating an In-home Care agency with 120 employees. When I’m not working, I spend time with my wife Ellie and our children Holly (2 years) and Rowan (8 months). I am also involved in our church.

I am grateful for Melinda’s leadership and am committed to maintaining her focus on quality care. My initial work as a part of No Worries will be to bolster our recruiting efforts to hire and retain the best caregivers in our area. I’m also planning to implement technology that will be convenient for everyone we work with, such as TapCheck for caregivers (an immediate after-shift payment option) and an electronic payments option for clients. I look forward to working with you in the months and years to come.

Congratulations Haley! Haley was just approved by the Oregon Health Authority as our Administrator. Haley’s story is one of following your dreams. Haley came to No Worries 7 ½ years ago as a Certified Home Health Aide. Haley loved Caregiving but had always liked working with numbers and accounts and Jim said he would train her for bookkeeping if she took some intro classes. Haley came in for 3 months on her own time to train. Haley became a part-time bookkeeper, then full-time bookkeeper, then Office Manager, Accounts Manager, Assistant Administrator and then in January of this year completed the two-year training program for the Administrator position. Congratulation Megan who has been promoted to be our Nursing Services Manager. What a Team! Thank you to our Veterans. I know that every day I enjoy freedom and safety because of the dedicated service of those who have served in our Military. Your sacrifices are appreciated and honored on Veteran’s Day Saturday, November 11th. Happy Feet: There just is nothing better than having comfortable feet. We recently celebrated Megan and Torie’s Birthdays and they are each enjoying comfortable feet! I know it is cold outside but I love wearing sandals and I am continuing to wear them because happy feet equates to happy people. Take Care. Melinda
