Melinda's Thoughts - 10/22/18

I just read:

“Several Influenza Deaths in US, Including One Child, as Flu Season Begins. Several patients including one child have died from influenza as the first week of the 2018-19 flu season drew to a close,
according to news and public health department reports.” – Troy Brown, RN October 17, 2018.

There are many things we can do to avoid becoming sick and washing our hands and remembering to wash hands before touching our mouths, eyes, and nose is something we can all do and prevents a lot of illness. Those who are at risk for the flu due to age, health problems, immunosuppression, and other factors should ask their Health Care Provider now about whether a flu shot is recommended.

I always carry around Wet Wipes packets in my purse and I have a large Wet Wipes package in the glove box and we use these wipes whenever we get in the car after being out in public. An ounce of prevention. Tis the season for hand sanitizer.

Take Care. Melinda
